After a delay of almost 2 years, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl is finally ready to ship March 23rd 2007 and can be pre-ordered from major retailers in the UK such as Play.com. Trailers for this game have been around for some time, but the game has been as elusive as its name suggests, creeping in at a time at cross-roads between DX9 and DX10, although it wasn't meant to be a DX10 title anyway, so it will just have to convince through a combination of game play, story line and graphics.

Fans of Far Cry might have been surprised by Crytek's latest video trailer on NZONE, so we'll just sit back and let them surprise us (Crytek's CEO Cevat Yerli is certainly excited about lots of "SUUUB SURFACE SCATTEEERING").

BAA: Dual Standards on Airport security

Every day, thousands of travellers comply with new carry-on baggage regulations around the world. BAA runs Britain's largest airports, but nowhere are the regulations as controversial as Heathrow's Terminal 2, where make-up, shampoos, perfumes and more can be quickly replenished by the shopping area's own stock.

High % Vodka, Alcohol-based Dior perfumes from the duty free and aerosols, gels and liquids from the massive Boots shop are just some of the hypocrites of airport regulation. To appease the airport shops and maintain the reputation of their duty free shops, BAA is willing to place "You can carry everything you buy in duty-free" alongside their 100ml liquid allowance.

Strangely enough, Boots' staff were kind enough to provide a larger see-through plastic bag for the purchased Neutrogena Face wash (500ml) and FCUK deodorant aerosol (isopropyl butane - camping gas) to meet airport regulations.

BAA's management seriously needs to reconsider the inventory of its shops and the items (high & alcohol, flammable) that should be restricted no matter where you are in the airport. Common sense should be enough to determine that water and shampoo can't be put on fire, if you're not sure, carry out combustion testing (Airport authorities at PEK have been taking small samples and doing flammability tests for years... just to prove that shampoo can't be put on fire...

NVIDIA releases world's first DX10 compatible unified-shader workstation graphics. The new card displaces the Quadro FX 5500 as the top card for workstation and professional users. Featuring up to 1.5 GB of high-speed DDR3 RAM, support for NVIDIA's CUDA GPGPU solution and a Graphics bandwidth of 76.8 GB/s, it's certainly going to appeal to CG designers and CAD users.  The cards can also be linked up in SLI mode for even faster performance.
